Why we love the new Spanx dresses for all occasions —Get yours now

Dresses really are the all-in-one outfit — that is after you put on your shapewear.

But, what if we told you that a dress really could have it all? Thanks to Spanx, the shapewear and athleisure brand we know and love, you can have it all and then some.

Announced on Sept. 22, Spanx now carries dresses in three styles: sheath, A-line and fit and flare. Each style is made of washable, smoothing premium ponte fabric, the same used in their bestselling Perfect Collection, which carries the Perfect Pant we already love. That’s right — you can wash these in your machine at home, no dry cleaning required.

Back to the dresses at hand, we actually got them in our hands ahead of the launch, to help you decide which of the three styles to shop (or grab all three — we won’t judge.) Read on for a breakdown of each of the dresses, with information on sizing, colors, stretch, thickness and more.

Ready to shop right now? Go right ahead, as we don’t know how long these new dresses will stay in stock.

1. The Perfect Sheath Dress$168

Be in it black or red, this dress is a perfect 10. The silky and smoothing sheath dress fit like a glove, if that glove is also slimming and made of thick, luxe material. The perfect pointe fabric is a great way to combine fashion and function, as it looks fancy while remaining comfortable and breathable.

Even on my 5-foot-4 frame, the dress fell right below my knees, for an office-appropriate look that made me feel confident as well as comfy. The stretchy fabric moves with your body, while the slimming construction made my silhouette look amazing.

2. The Perfect A-Line ¾ Sleeve Dress, $198

Look out winter dressing, because this dress changes the game. It can be so hard to find a flattering dress with sleeves, as many can appear frumpy or age the wearer. This dress is a perfect combination of sophisticated and youthful, with long sleeves and a synched waist, but with a fun kangaroo front pocket and flattering length above the knee.

The “Perfect” fabric is a life-saver here again, smoothing everything out while not restricting movement in my body or arms, as that can also be a common problem with tight sleeves. The neckline is the last thing to note, offering a slight boatneck style that enhances curves even more for a unique and flirty silhouette.

3. The Perfect Fit & Flare Dress, $188

This really was the perfect fit and flare dress, for the taller model on the left and my short self on the right.

The dress was really made for all, with a waist the synched in my waist and a fabric that smoothed out any lump or bump from undergarments. Like the others in this collection, since the fabric is so thick and luxurious, you may not even need a bra or shapewear underneath, as this dress truly does it all.
