Originally planned to appear in WWE 2K22, Bray Wyatt is among of the most popular superstars to step foot into a WWE ring. However, Bray Wyatt was released from the WWE in July 2021 and removed from the game's roster before launch. A new Fightful Select report claims WWE specifically wanted to remove Bray Wyatt from the WWE 2K22 roster following his release from the company. Coincidentally, Wyatt was the only superstar removed from WWE 2K22 before launch this past March. Further details regarding the reasoning for Bray Wyatt's removal from WWE 2K22 are left up to speculation at this time.

Many superstars were released within the year prior to the release of WWE 2K22 such as Keith Lee, Karrion Kross, Scarlett, and Ember Moon. According to the Fightful Select report, some superstars were surprised by their inclusion in WWE 2K22 following their release from the WWE. Additionally, some were not explicitly told about their WWE 2K22 appearance while working in the WWE. WWE told superstars at the time to "expect something" later in the year, which referred to pay and appearances in WWE 2K22.

Bray Wyatt continues to be an enigma in the wrestling landscape and one of the most beloved from the WWE. Many eagerly await Bray Wyatt's return to the professional wrestling world. During the wait, fans created and shared custom versions of Bray Wyatt with WWE 2K22's Community Creations feature. Although Bray Wyatt is no longer with the WWE, WWE 2K22 Community Creations allow for some alternatives in his absence.

WWE 2K22 keeps growing as a financial success for the WWE and 2K respectively. More DLC packs are coming soon to WWE 2K22 including the Clowning Around Pack. The Clowning Around Pack releases on June 28 and adds WWE superstars Doink the Clown, Ronda Rousey, The British Bulldog, Mr. T, Doudrop, and Rick Boogs.

WWE 2K22 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
